
In the society we live in anxiety isn’t discussed enough as much as it should, this is something that everyone experience at different point in their lives, it’s a feeling that makes one so uncomfortable, constant anxiety can make a person pull back from normal regular activities. A person who finds it easy to relate to people becomes anti-social because they overthink people’s reaction towards them, that can be a very difficult situation to be in, which makes it very important for everyone to know how to handle, because it’s not a disease or kind that can be taken away with the use of medication, it doesn’t mean there are not people that nurses theirs with medication but that’s not the most effective way of overcoming it completely, on this article i would be out-listing various way on how to deal with anxiety and be set free for good.
1. Screen time control
Among many things that affect us without our knowing is the amount of time we spend scrolling on our mobile devices, many people are even unconscious of the kind of content they consume on their devices but this have a huge role to play on our minds, on the the internet there are tons of people that have their whole lives displayed which sometimes seems all perfect making it feel like you are the only one stuck in a kind of unpleasant situation. when you see everyone looking happy on the screen it can sometimes create a delusion that no one has something they are struggling with. Having control of the amount of time you spend on the screen creates room to reflect on personal conflict, you begin to pay attention to your body system, your breathing pattern and that increases the chances of meditation which many people would advice you to practice in order to overcome anxiety. Being too obsessed with the screen can make you become unaware of the message your body system is sending across to you and then you feel it more when you are doing nothing. choose to be in control not being controlled by that urge to spend an entire day scrolling.
2. Connect more with people
A very strong way to be free from anxiety is trying as much as possible stepping out of your home to connect with people, when a person stays alone always especially someone who hasn’t gained self mastery, they find it easy to overthink things, this is something that increases anxiety, when you create things in the mind that you are unable to have control over. but by being around people you’ve taken the first step to resist the chances of letting anxiety have power over you. it might feel uncomfortable at first but as long as it’s someone you are safe around, you’ve been able to become a step ahead and when this is practiced Continuously it wouldn’t trouble the heart any longer when you are out in public places
3. improve sleeping pattern
lack of sleep can increase the risk of anxiety due to lack of rest. when the body hasn’t fully gotten enough rest and settled, it can begin to over process things just like a mobile device that has been over used for many tasks without being kept, it could become hot overtime and sometimes run slow in it’s performance, our body system runs in the same way.
There are various reasons why a person might not be able to get proper sleep at night. work, stress, worries, noise, insomnia and a whole lot of others but these contributes to increased anxiety overtime
it’s very important to have proper sleep regularly, that way the nerves get relaxed and a person finds it easy to process thoughts accurately, there are so many ways a person can get good night rest and there are devices that helps with that as well, something like a White noise machine, it’s a device that helps blocking noise in an atmosphere and can be useful for someone in a noisy environment, that way regular sleep can be increased, improving overall body performance including the mind, resisting anxiety from being able to dominate.
4. Building spirituality
Spirituality helps a person to be able to live without having to fight all different kind of struggles alone and in the case of anxiety it can also be very effective.
There are many things happening around us that we don’t have the power to control, when we try to control what we cant, we become anxious because it feels overwhelming but when we follow through the right spiritual practice our mind stays at ease and hope on an intervention from a source that goes beyond us. example of spiritual exercises could be praying and fasting, studying the word, mindfulness and inner awareness
